Time to finally learn Blender properly! I’ve been using it on and off for years, mainly to do some tiny fixes to existing 3D models, maybe once or twice a year. But enough with that, let’s learn it for real this time, so we can actually make some models from scratch and incorporate them into a game.
And let’s start with something simple: an old Ukrainian wooden water jug should be a good for that. We managed to create a very low-poly version of it, but it looked way too square and not suitable for subdivision at all. So we scrapped that and created a new one, with 3 times the amount of cylinder faces, but still with sharp edges of individual planks when shaded smooth. It turned out to be a little bit messy, but probably good enough.
