But that was only a half of the stream, we also started the second game in the series, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. And it’s exactly what I expected. More story, more jokes, more nice MIDI music, and more puzzles!
And again, we’re playing the Talkie mod, which provides voiceover from the remake overlayed on top of the original DOS game. But unfortunately, this time we don’t have the GeneralMIDI conversion for it. But it’s okay, we’re using a pretty good MT-32 emulator, and the game was designed for MT-32 cards anyway, so it’s pretty much the original experience. Also, this game is made noticeably better compared to the previous one: the music is pretty much always on, with seamless transitions. It even has some nice pirate songs aligned with the music, which is awesome.
But yeah, the puzzles are still pretty hard sometimes. I think I’m stuck again. So unless I can figure something out next Friday, we’d probably have to use our first hint for this game.
