We managed to finish The Longest Journey on stream! And what an amazing game that was! I enjoyed every moment of it.
It was a long journey indeed, even though I wish it was longer. I really liked the story, the universe, and I didn’t want it to come to an end.
The story was great, the characters were amazing as well. The game keeps you engaged every moment of it, surprising you with plot twists and leaving you wondering what’s going to happen next.
The puzzles were very nice and player friendly. I only noticed one weird puzzle that didn’t really fit into the story/progression and it felt very odd (the Maerum cave one). And I did have to get a couple of hints from the UHS. But no softlocks, which is nice.
It was awesome that all the dialogs in the game are voiced, it did provide great immersion. Even though it would be even better if the books and the diary were voiced too. I did struggle a lot reading those (especially the books, the font was absolutely unreadable) until I’ve found how to increase the font size in the ini files.
But the good news is, this is not the end! There are still two more games in the same universe, and their stories are connected together. And now I’m sure that I’m going to play them as well. So, I hope to see you next Friday, because we’re going to start the next game on stream, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (2006).
