Finally Gaming Friday and we’re finally back in Arcadia! I was really excited to play some more of The Longest Journey.
Off-stream I’ve finally found a way to increase the font size in the game for the diary and for the book text. Turned out it’s really easy to do. If you’re interested, I described how to do that at the very beginning of the stream.
So… Back to our story progression, and progress we did! We somehow managed to complete two chapters this time.
We managed to free the Banda people from the terror of the scary-witchy-monster on our way to the evil alchemist; Eat some shrooms and have a trip in a mole hole; Solve a labyrinth inside the alchemist’s floating castle; Literally made the alchemist multiply himself by zero; Cooked some cheatcodes very useful magic potions; Freed the wind and all the people trapped by the evil alchemist; Discovered that April is indeed the next Guardian; Finally made the captain take us on the ship to Alais… But then we discovered that April can’t hold an axe straight and so we got stranded in the middle of the ocean; Got kidnapped again and almost got drowned in the process (remember: never try to pet anything that sticks its head out of the water, even if it looks cute); Learned to speak Fish and got some gross scuba-diving gear… And looks like we’re now a slave, a scuba-diving weed gathering slave. Phew, what an eventful day.
And after all of that, I discovered that I have a hidden power button on the docking station that I’m using for my retro gaming laptop, which I managed to accidentally press in the middle of a dialogue. 😮 And my last save in the game was a whole chapter back. 😱 So I effectively lost more than an hour of the gameplay. 🥲
But don’t worry, I’ll re-play the game off-stream to restore the progress up until the point when I got attacked by the sneaky power button so we can continue our playthrough next Friday as if nothing had happened.
