This time we made a bunch of improvements to our k8s setup, fixed a couple of problems that appeared because of unordered restart of the server components that happens during the deployment to k8s, and improved our metrics collection. And I’ve wasted a whole lot of time trying to figure out how to set up OTLP receiver in the Prometheus instance installed with the stupid kube-prometheus-stack Helm chart, that lacks any kind of comprehensive documentation.
But we’re almost done with the metrics. Now I have an idea how to set up the OpenTelemetry and configure Prometheus/Grafana to collect and display the metrics properly.
