This time we had an extra-long 12-hour birthday stream and it was great! Thank you everyone again for being there.
On stream we played Beyond: Two Souls (2020 PC Remaster) from the beginning to the end in one go. And it was amazing. A beautiful, engaging story, awesome graphics, real actor motion capture with great actors…
We played the original storyline, and it was amazing how your choices as a player affect the story. Even though we somewhat knew how it’ll turn out from the beginning of the game, the journey was totally unique because of all the choices. For example, we’ve found out that you can completely miss 90% of the episode just by failing to sneak out of the building (we did have to replay that part haha). The choices that you make affect not only outcome of each specific episode, but the whole story altogether.
Even though I’ve been struggling with the controls sometimes (especially the slow-mo quick time events, and the “jump” motion because my controller’s accelerometer seems to be broken), the controls overall seemed nice, especially I liked the Aiden “mode”. I do struggle with the console-like controls, especially when they don’t provide full camera freedom, but that’s on me, I’m more of a mouse+keyboard kind of player. I just need to get used to it.
Overall, this was just a great game, nicely put together. Awesome experience. I may even replay it one more time later and try out different choices.
